The history
of Kampus
The history of Kampus is what gives it its charm. Prior to the creation of Kampus, 2700 Angus Street served as an abandoned factory, vacant for over 7 years. The 12,000-square-foot commercial building, owned by the municipality under Louis H. Lafontaine was put up for sale via a government bidding process in 2017.
The building was rendered impractical and unusable due to asbestos contamination in its interior and solvents and chemicals in the ground, resulting in its loss of value.
However, we saw a potential in this historic building in the Plateau Mont-Royal’s latest urban renewal area that no one else did.
The making of video was shot to immortalize the Kampus story, promote the concept and demonstrate the workload involved in the project.
